The Regulatory Compliance Association Presents:
The Spring Asset Management Thought Leadership Summit™
Location: Marriott Marquis, New York, NY
Date: Monday, April 19th, 2010
Time: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
About the Annual Conference
The SEC just announced the formation of five new National Specialized Units in the Division of Enforcement - placing Asset Management directly in the cross hairs.
Per Robert Khuzami, Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, this initiative constitutes the “biggest re-organization of the Enforcement Division in more than 30 years.”
First and foremost, the SEC’s new Asset Management Unit will target hedge funds, private equity, investment advisers, and investment companies.
Robert Kaplan and Bruce Karpati will serve as Co-Chiefs of the new Asset Management Unit.
The initiative includes providing supena authority to SEC staff, a flatter management structure, and eliminating bureaucraticacy.
Moreover, Institutional Investor requirements continue to escalate - performance is now a factor and NOT a driver in the allocation process. Large Asset Owners favor firms who have superior processes and practices relative to regulatory compliance, risk management, operations, reporting and governance.
To examine and evaluate the challenges and opportunities, the Regulatory Compliance Association with its Event Partners proudly present the Annual Spring Asset Management Thought Leadership Summit™.
The Speaking Faculty, comprised exclusively of professors from the CCO University, shall explore and evaluate how the new era of Pro-regulationTM will re-shape the Asset Management Industry.
